Kids are funny, pretty much all of them. But THIS one, he cracks me up all the time. He is so sarcastic and grown up in some of his humor but also so much the baby of the family in other ways. He has funny personality quirks like seeming to not be too fond of most adults. He takes a LONG time to warm up to adults. Though thankfully his kindergarten teacher broke down his wall quickly, there are family members he’s known all his life that he is still standoffish with. But he’s making friends with other kids left and right. He’s like a rock star walking down the sidewalk after school and he waves and smiles and says bye to each of this friends using their names (remembering names was a skill it took the other two boys FOREVER to master.)
This week was his first field trip for school. He was most excited to be going on a BUS to get there. So I asked who he might sit by. He informed me that he would probably pick a little girl, “even though she’s a girl, she’s super fun cuz we talk about Spongebob a lot.” So there you have it, girls are ok as long as they have a deep knowledge of Spongebob.
But he really had me giggling when he started calling me “Mommy Lewis!” You see HIS middle name is Lewis and I’m sure why but I use his middle name a lot. He’s honestly not in trouble very often at all but I guess I use it when I am just being more serious about him getting something done and apparently when we’re trying to get out the door in the morning. Because that’s when he decided he was going to start calling me “Mommy Lewis” from now on!
